When I told my husband that I went to Union Station in Downtown LA for the first time yesterday, he couldn’t believe I’d never been there. He took our boys one Sunday when I was out of town and it was one of the best outings they’ve ever had, he said. He told them it was just like the train station in Harry Potter, which made it magical for them. They toured the station, had lunch, and rode the train out to see the grandparents.
Here are my iPhone pictures from my own mini-tour of the station. The walk through the station was followed up by lunch at Homegirl Cafe.

I love the train station! My husband and I have actually made it a date destination before. Dinner and drinks too!
Beautiful pictures! I haven’t been to the station in years!

Yet another beautiful historical place in LA – loved your post!
Born and raised in Southern California and I’ve never been there either!! What’s the green drink in the last photo?
It’s called Angela’s Potion and I had it at Homegirl Cafe, which is near Union Station. It’s spinach and mint limeade. Unbelievably good! I wish I had taken a picture of the green chile chilaquiles I had. Also delicious.
Gorgeous! I’ve never been there, but I love those beautiful old train stations.
I love Union Station! I always feel transported to another era (or city!) when I go there. And there’s usually a film crew around as well!
Your photos are stunning!

Yvonne, beautiful photos. I can’t remember the last time I was there. I will need to plan a trip with the kids.
